Observe
Cover the Character name and let children study the artwork.
Sunday School · Open the lesson
Use one hidden-name Character and the Connection cards in children’s hands to create a participatory doorway into today’s Bible story.
WHO IS THIS?Begin with curiosity
Children can participate through observation before Bible knowledge or confidence determines who answers first.

The six-step opener
Cover the Character name and let children study the artwork.
Ask who the Character might be and what clues they notice.
Show the name, but wait before beginning the formal lesson.
Children inspect the Connection cards already in their hands.
Invite children to hold up a card and tell why it belongs.
Use one discovered Connection to open the day’s Bible theme.
Make the transition
Move from the card children identify into David’s response to Goliath.
Use the crown to introduce Esther’s position and the choice she faced.
Let the prayer card open Daniel’s daily practice and costly obedience.
Fit the room
Give each child several cards and invite one explanation from everyone.
Give one card per child. Let pairs discuss before answers are shared.
Give each group a set of Connections and let them choose one speaker.
Prepare in minutes
Keep the opener short enough that curiosity carries directly into the teacher’s lesson.
